RED TAPE MOVEMENT

Red Tape Movement is an awareness movement to save the trees by tying red tape on the tree trunk and to give the message that to cut the tree is harmfull to the NATURE and BIODIVERSITY. This movement is the peoples participation movement at grass root level. This movement was started by me on 5th June, 2008, in Etawah district. Such peoples participation movements are the need of the hour to save our biodiversity and nature. This movement is a peaceful movement and is not against government policies. It is gaining the support of local peoples. One local N.G.O. named 'Swami Vivekanand Seva Sansthan' is co-operating in this movement. We choose a village on holiday and move to this and with the help of local villagers first we do plantation and then start tying trees trunks with red tape. Initially we faced some problems but now we are gaining the support of local persons.
